With the recent news about Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have fielded several questions about the virus and swimming pools/hot tubs. Following is a statement from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control):According to the CDC, there is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread to humans through the use of pools and hot tubs. Proper operation, maintenance, and disinfection (e.g., with chlorine and bromine) of pools and hot tubs should remove or inactivate the virus that causes COVID-19.

High Five for Friday!

  1. We sure are enjoying our big lawn!  And the park right next to Pool Refs new home!
  2. I have been on a 2-day internet hiatus…spent almost three hours on the phone with our cable company guy (thanks guy!).  We figured out it was the wireless router…thank goodness for handy men! Robert is not only a pool technician but a mini technical engineer by night! We have our internet set up and ready to go so I can do online door tags and edited videos like this one!
  3. Mmmmm!!  Chocolate cheesecake! This was delicious! The whole team at Pool Refs celebrated our friends,  Alan and Irene Frosch (nee Saine) wedding this past weekend! Congratulations!
  4. Pool School continues to pick up clients!  Book your time today!  If you have received our new homeowner flyer in the mail, you are eligible for a FREE Pool School!  What’s involved in our pool school? Check this post out to see what’s on the agenda!
  5. Okay, okay, enough with summer already right??  But I have ONE more summer recipe for you!  Cantaloupe frenzy smoothie!  (My cantaloupe, unfortunately, went bad before I could use it so I have not officially tried these yet 🙁 ) I hope you like them though!

You’ll Need:

  • 3 cups Diced cantaloupe chunks
  • 2 Tbs Sugar (or 1 1/2 Tbs Honey)
  • 2 cups Ice Cubes

Place all ingredients in a mason jar and attach the blender blade, gasket, and bottom to the jar. Puree until smooth. Alternatively, if your blender blade and bottom do not fit a mason jar, you can just use your blender!

This is very light and refreshing, serve it with a sprig of fresh mint if you have some.

- Add 1/2 c. of Strawberries OR Banana

- Add 1/4- 1/2 c. Greek Yogurt (for protein!)

- If the melon is overripe you might want to omit the sugar altogether.

- For an extra burst of flavor add 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
